Programs seek to fill irrigation knowledge gap
The ag irrigation industry offers a lot of new technology, but in many cases, farmers aren’t putting it to use. However, new training and competition programs aim to help equip and connect farmers with new technologies and information to assist them in better understanding the potential for higher return on investment and improved water use.
Filling this knowledge gap was a featured topic of discussion at a recent Industry Insights panel session held on December 8 as part of the 2022 Irrigation Association Show and Education Week offerings in Las Vegas, Nevada. The session featured insights from Master Irrigator and Irrigation schools, and from the Testing Ag Performance Solutions and Most Crop Per Drop contests available in the High Plains and Delta regions of the United States, as featured in a December 13 article authored by Willie Vogt for Farm Progress.
